June 27th – August 22th, 2019

Things that are not books and that are often found in the libraries is the title for the solo show opened on June 27th at Nube Gallery, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, where I was invited by its director and founder of Kiosko project, Raquel Schwartz.

This exhibition is composed of a group of works based on literature, an element that, along with my research around the photographic media has remained constant over my more than 25 years of artistic production. The pieces were made using various manual means linked to textile work –using felt, embroidery and knitting– to give shape to images from various texts that incorporate fragments of literary pieces by authors such as Georges Perec, Raymond Queneau, Agota Kristof and Raúl Zurita.

Things that are not books and that are often found in the libraries presents a series of recent works where I have incorporated text as a central problem in the image, both from its formal aspects and its subject matter, and also some of my explorations around the artist’s book.
