la tercera mentira: variaciones cromáticas

06 enero – 31 enero 2009

Obra exhibida:
one hundred and sixty three shades of yellow, green, orange, red, purple, brown, grey and blue (so far) (ciento sesenta y tres tonos de amarillo, verde, naranja, rojo, morado, café, gris y azul (hasta ahora))
Sans Titre (sin título)

The third lie: chromatic deflections

January 6th – January 31st, 2009
Moro Gallery, Santiago, Chile

“The third lie: chromatic deflections” brings together two different perspectives on the same problem that has been the basis of my research over the years: the transfer of photographic images to manual media linked to craft techniques.

In this case, the emphasis is on a chromatic translation regulated by the restricted palette of industrially produced embroidery threads. Despite the visual proximity to pictorial techniques, this restriction in working with previously established colours marks a distance from that medium.

one hundred and sixty three shades of yellow, green, orange, red, purple, brown, grey and blue (so far) dialogues, in thematic terms, with a classic theme of painting: the still life; while Sans Titre (Untitled) reproduces a work of observation in a specific space. Although thematically distanced, both works continue to explore the chromatic distortions produced by photography, emphasizing what is seen rather than what is known.

Exhibited work:
one hundred and sixty three shades of yellow, green, orange, red, purple, brown, grey and blue (so far) (ciento sesenta y tres tonos de amarillo, verde, naranja, rojo, morado, café, gris y azul (hasta ahora)
